Artist Statement

As a chainsaw artist, I find joy in transforming raw wood into vibrant, whimsical, and sometimes functional pieces of art that capture the spirit of nature. With every cut, I strive to reveal the inherent beauty within the wood, often incorporating textures, patterns, and shapes that reflect the natural world. From the intricate details of a an American flag blowing in the wind to the playful essence of a Wood Spirit or Gnome Home, my carvings are a testament to the magic that can be uncovered in the unlikeliest of places.

Through my art, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder, nostalgia, and connection to the world around us. Whether it's a driftwood infused frame, a walking stick that invites the viewer to take a journey, a bird that seems to take flight, or a fish that appears to swim off the wood, my creations are designed to inspire and delight. With a focus on texture, form, and storytelling, I invite you to explore my world of wooden wonders and discover the beauty that can be carved from the raw and the unexpected.

As a full-time artist, I'm grateful to have the opportunity to share my passion with the community, and I'm thrilled to return to The Peter Anderson Festival for my fourth year, showcasing my latest creations alongside fellow artisans and makers.
